Overview
The Jaguar X-Type will make an exit after 2008, its final model year of production. The car is available as a sedan and wagon, both with standard all-wheel drive. However, two changes stand out for this year – the new grille and two new colors. The X-Type is elegant, comfortable, and fun to drive. It offers the benefits of a full-time all-wheel drive, making it a secure choice during rain, snow, or ice.
Powertrain and Performance
Both sedan and wagon X-Types have a 227 horsepower, 3.0-liter, V-6 engine that comes with a five-speed automatic transmission. The X-Type rises to every challenge, whether on a highway or a winding back road through the country. Steering is sharp and precise and the car feels nimble yet smooth and stable during cornering.
Body and Styling
Standard in all interiors is a leather and wood interior trim; the luxury package comes with leather-trimmed seats and a burl-walnut interior trim. Ten-way powered driver and passenger seats, memory settings for the driver seat and side mirror, self-dimming rearview mirror, and an automatic climate control are among the standard features offered in the cockpit-like interior.

The 2008 X-Type rides on 16-inch alloy wheels and optional 17-inch wheels are available. The high tail has been replaced by a traditional low tail and a forward-leaning grille with a dash of contemporary styling. While a sunroof is standard, the chrome door-mirror caps and automatic on/off headlamps come with a unique 17-inch wheel design for the luxury package.
Safety Features
Available safety features include anti-lock braking, an anti-skid system, curtain-side air bags, and front side air bags. The wagon has been given a rear obstacle detection system, while Jaguar's dynamic and electronic stability control system is standard across models.
